Russian Volunteers save 1300 dogs and cats from terrible fate in China

Russian volunteers, with the help of local police, stopped illegal truck carrying 1300 dogs and cats transported in horrific conditions, stuffed 5-10 to a tiny cage, many wounded, bleeding and dying from heat, thirst and hunger. These poor animals were to be killed and eaten at the Yulin dog meat festival. The Russian volunteers had to sneak the saved animals in secret into shelters and animal sanctuaries. These organizations must keep their addresses secret due to attacks by the dog and cat meet traders — a horrific custom still existing in the rural areas of China.

I want to stress that it was an international effort; the Chinese volunteers and Chinese animal shelters were involved.

The good news, many innocent animals have been saved.

Koala to Putin: Vladimir, don’t mind Tony, his communication skills are zero and vocabulary is a bit limited. He meant ‘the cuddly koala group hug,’ but it came out as ‘shirtfront.’

(Shirtfronting: rough tackling to the ground of an opponent in Australian slang – move considered illegal in Australian football. Australian PM Tony Abbott infamously repeatedly announced he would shirtfront Putin. Honestly, Putin’s nerves are made of steel and his patience is infinite after a comment like that. China: Locals Rescue Trapped Dog

For a week in the city of Guyan, in the south-west of China, local citizens have been feeding a little dog that mysteriously got trapped in a city drain. Despite their attempts, they were unable to free the poor thing. After a week-long ordeal, the dog was finally freed up by a worker who was sent to help.

В городе Гуйян на юго-западе Китая собака застряла под землей в одном из дорожных водостоков. В течение недели жители города кормили ее через решетку и пытались вызволить из ловушки. Однако освободить животное смог только подоспевший на помощь дорожный рабочий.

Eastern Ukraine. In the midst of inhumanity and a barbaric war, one man’s kindness stands out! This man, Sergei, is the only one left on his street; everyone else has fled the constant attacks and shelling by the #Kiev junta army that aims specifically at people’s living quarters. People in #Donetsk had been living in cellars and all those who could, already fled to Russia or elsewhere.

The money and food are very tight in Donetsk. But Sergei (god bless him) still makes the rounds of his destroyed neighborhood and feeds the abandoned pets. He says, “I also have 3 cats and a dog and I couldn’t abandon these animals.”

The poor pets have to survive in the destroyed structures left after the street was bombed by #Ukraine army.

Житель Донецка подкармливает оставленных беженцами домашних животных: Сергей — единственный житель Донецка, оставшийся жить на улице Мехлиса. Его соседи бежали когда начались обстрелы. Многие из них оставили на произвол судьбы домашних питомцев. С тех пор Сергей заботится о брошенных животных, ежедневно подкармливая их. При этом он сам является владельцем трех кошек и собаки.
