By Seeker’s request, I recorded an additional piece of over 55 minutes long about the Future of the Russian Language! However, you know me and my global way of thinking – plus, me the linguist here ;)!

I didn’t stop at the Russian language and included in the discussion:

The past, present and FUTURE OF RUSSIAN, ENGLISH, CHINESE, SPANISH, FRENCH and ARABIC languages! What made those languages the world’s official international languages and how the ‘global significance’ of a language is determined! Mentioned also are: German, Portuguese, and Hindi, and their significance.

Will the situation with the Russian language’s prosecution and neglect change in the near of distant future, and will it become more popular for studying? How widely-spoken was the Russian language in the previous era?
Why English is so universally popular, what’s its appeal and future? Will it continue being as popular and whether I foresee that changing?
Can Chinese become a widely spoken international language and what’s preventing that from happening?
What is the future of Spanish and what’s the good news?

Also included is a discussion about Latin, Esperanto and dead vs. live languages.

And prediction! What is the probability of humanity developing a joint language of global communication, incorporating the elements of various languages?
